Latin American Film and Art Festival concludes with films, documentaries, books, literature and art exhibition
At Nova Southeastern University-Davie.
As has been done for many years in our Broward County, the Latino Film and Art Festival concluded. It took place at the Nova Southeastern University auditorium, as well as the spacious and striking Nova library, where the art exhibition, including those by Fernando Botero and works by other Latino artists, is still open to the public until October 17.
Before each film, the festival's founder, Adrianita Bianco, interviews the directors present and gives them feedback on the film. She also talks to writers, promotes their books and gives them the opportunity to present them to the audience.
The festival is presented on the 4 Sundays of September starting at 2 p.m., completely free of charge, honoring the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month nationwide. On the first Sunday, a documentary about the life, work, and family of Fernando Botero, who passed away in 2023, was screened, and his son was present on the last Sunday of the festival's closing. Later, films from Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Argentina were presented.
We would like to thank Don Pan in the city of Davie for their generous contribution with coffee and snacks during the filming of the Venezuelan movie, which also featured an excellent performance by Encantus Voices, an instrumental choral project that promotes Venezuelan, Latin American and Caribbean music.
The film festival is an event well worth supporting.
