Broward Business & Beyond

Listed as one of the most influential events in small business development, Broward Business & Beyond was held at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center this past May 9.

The event brought together a variety of local businesses and institutions who presented booths promoting and selling their products and services. While the audience learned about and connected with the range of participating businesses, conferences on small business development and expansion were held in the other rooms.

Broward Business & Beyond was organized by the Broward Office of Small Business and Economic Development.

During the monthly Broward Latin Entrepreneurs meetings hosted by Liza Erazo on The View in Tamarac, Broward County's new Tax Collector Director, Abbey Ajayi, gave an insightful talk on the importance of the Business Tax Receipt required for all businesses operating in our county, whether from home or in private offices.

YOU NEED A BUSINESS TAX RECEIPT

A Business Tax Receipt (BTR) is required for all businesses operating in Broward County. This includes home-based businesses and sole proprietorships.

If you are engaged in professional, commercial, or business activities, or provide a service within the county, Broward County Ordinances 72-13, 88-35, and Florida Statute Chapter 205 require you to obtain the appropriate tax receipt for your business. (Per County Ordinance)
